Join us on a photo trip from September 3 to 17, 2027 (15 days) and experience the stunning central and eastern regions of Sri Lanka, where the weather is perfect at this time. We will be going with a group of a maximum of 4-6 people, plus Monique and Indy. So sign up quickly!

On various days, photo discussions are scheduled. We will also work with Lightroom once. Breakfast is provided at the hotel every day. Two dinners are included and one lunch. All entrance fees and transportation are covered. All hotels have a swimming pool and air conditioning.
Day 1 Flight from Amsterdam to Colombo (likely the first Friday of September 2026).
Day 2 Arrival in Negombo, welcome with a demo, and sunset on the beach.
Day 3 Visit to the fish market, with opportunities to take portrait photos. Travel to Kandy, visit the Botanical Garden, and have a photo discussion.
Day 4 Scenic train journey. Visit to a tea factory and meet tea pickers. On the way back, we will photograph a waterfall.
Day 5 We visit the Temple of the Tooth. Then, we continue to Mahiyanganaya with photo stops along the way, and enjoy sunset by a lake.
Day 6 Sunrise and breakfast by the lake. We will take an extended village tour, including a traditional lunch.
Day 7 Macro photography session. Relaxation time. In the evening, we will be guests of the Vedda people for an ancient dance.
Day 8 Visit to the Dambulla Temple. In the afternoon, we will go on a jeep safari to see elephants.
Day 9 Early morning climb of Pidurangala Rock to watch the sunrise with a spectacular view of Sigiriya (Lion’s Rock). Later, we will visit Polonnaruwa, a UNESCO World Heritage site with fascinating history and Buddha statues.
Day 10 Transfer to Trincomalee and Nilaveli at the beach. Visit to a Hindu temple and the local market. Relax and spot butterflies or dragonflies with a macro lens.
Day 11 Sunrise on the beach, usually accompanied by fishermen and boats. Relax at the beach or by the pool.
Day 12 Optional snorkeling or whale watching (not included). We will still have a photo discussion today, but there is plenty of free time.
Day 13 Transfer to Anuradhapura, one of the oldest cities in Sri Lanka. A specialized guide will give us a tour, offering fantastic opportunities to capture cultural photos.
Day 14 Grand finale: we will visit a second national safari park. We will certainly see elephants and many other animals, with a chance to spot a leopard or sloth bear.
Day 15 Flight from Colombo to Amsterdam.
This marks the end of an incredible journey, leaving you with fantastic photos and unforgettable memories.
The aim of this trip is to have a nice trip with a group of like-minded people. We are all going to enjoy taking a lot of photos. On site, Monique will be there to give tips on settings and compositions. You’ll get tips on trying a different point of view, for example. Monique will take you to great places to take great photos.
The intention is not to give a complete photography course, but to get lots of tips and share experiences. However, we will work on various fun assignments, ND filters and long shutter speeds.
This trip is born out of hobby, so the costs are comparatively low.
