Join us on a photo trip from March 5 to 20, 2027 (16 days) and experience the stunning central and southwestern regions of Sri Lanka. We will travel with a group of a maximum of 4-6 people, plus Monique and Indy. Make sure to sign up in time!

On various days, photo discussions are scheduled. We will also work with Lightroom once. Breakfast is provided at the hotel every day. All entrance fees and transportation are included, unless otherwise stated. In principle, all hotels have a swimming pool and air conditioning in the rooms.
Day 1 Flight from Amsterdam to Colombo (probably March 6, 2026)
Day 2 Arrival in Negombo. Monique will welcome you with a demo. Tonight, we will enjoy the sunset at the beach.
Day 3 Visit to the fish market, where we can also take some nice portrait photos. We will visit a turtle sanctuary along the way and enjoy a fun boat safari.
Day 4 Sunrise in Mirissa, macro photography, time at the beach, or an option to spot whales and/or dolphins. We will photograph the pole fishermen in the surf.
Day 5 Relax at the beach for a bit. We will visit Galle Fort, the church, and the lighthouse. You can also take beautiful street photos here. We will photograph the sunset at the lighthouse.
Day 6 A meeting with lots of bats. Jeep safari in Yala National Park, where we will definitely spot elephants and maybe even a sloth bear or leopard.
Day 7 Jeep safari in Bundala National Park, the most beautiful bird park in Sri Lanka. We will also work with Lightroom for a bit.
Day 8 We will visit an elephant sanctuary with many baby elephants. Another jeep safari will follow, this time in Udawalawe National Park. Afterward, we will head to Ella.
Day 9 Today, we will take a beautiful train ride, and this Saturday evening, we will relax in Ella.
Day 10 We will visit the Nine Arches Bridge, climb Mini Adam’s Peak, and go to a waterfall where, after taking photos, we can also swim (or dip).
Day 11 Visit to the tea factory, tea plantations, and meet the tea pickers. Then, we will head to Kandy, with stops along the way whenever we encounter something special.
Day 12 Today, we will visit the Temple of the Tooth in Kandy. Afterward, we will explore the impressive Dambulla Cave Temple.
Day 13 Early climb of Pidurangala Rock for sunrise lovers, with a great view of Sigiriya. In the afternoon, we will go on a village tour, including an authentic lunch in a village house.
Day 14 Today, we will explore Polonnaruwa, a UNESCO World Heritage site rich in history and Buddha statues. Here, we can capture beautiful cultural photographs. In the afternoon, we will go on a jeep safari in Minneriya or the adjacent park, depending on where the elephants are.
Day 15 Transportation to Colombo, where we will take a short city tour and visit the local market and the Gangaramaya Temple.
Day 16 Check out at 11:00 AM. Flight from Colombo to Amsterdam.
This marks the end of a wonderful journey, leaving you with many great photos and even more amazing memories.
The aim of this trip is to make a beautiful journey together with a group of like-minded people. We all enjoy taking lots of photographs. On location, Monique is present to give tips on camera settings and composition. For example, you may receive tips on trying a different point of view. Monique takes you to great places to create beautiful images. We will work with a variety of enjoyable assignments, ND filters and long exposure times.
You will become familiar with different ways of photographing and share experiences and insights with other participants.
